Whether from near or far, Hands On! Regional Museum is a must see during your trip to Historic Jonesborough. With many attractions in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, Hands On! is a great family experience for kids of all ages. With permanent exhibits and rotating feature exhibits, there is always something for everyone. Hands On! also offers events, summer camps, birthday parties and camp-in overnight adventures.

The mission of Hands On! is to create a dynamic, educational, fun environment which stimulates discovery, thought and understanding through interactive exhibits, programs and events in the arts, sciences and humanities. Hands On! Museum was founded in 1986 and opened its doors for the first time in 1987. Since then it has more than doubled its exhibit space and welcomed over 1.25 million visitors! They welcome 70,000 visitors each year from nearly all 50 states and several foreign countries They have provided 100,000 programs in the arts, sciences, and humanities.

Hands On! Regional Museum features over 20 permanent, interactive exhibits for all ages. Some of these exhibits are The Ark, Alive and Well, Beyond Sound, The Landfill, TVA/Waterplay Dam, Safari Dreams Landfill, WKID-TV, KinderMart, Kids Bank and Credit Union, Art Studio and many others. Located in Johnson City, near Jonesborough, Bristol and Kingsport, Hands On! is just a short drive away.
