Owner Jeff Gurley turned the loss of his job in 2000 into a fun adventure. He did the research for his new enterprise by walking the streets of Historic Jonesborough and looking at it through the eyes of a child. The Lollipop Shop in Jonesborough, Tennessee was the result leading to another store in Kiawah Island, South Carolina and franchises in Beaufort, South Carolina; Hiawassee, Georgia; and the Smokies of Sevierville, Tennessee.
