Carriage House Bed and Breakfast—Built in 1877

pic Come and go as you please in a carriage house that is one of the oldest existing of its kind in Washington County. The house has been reconstructed into two rooms with private entrances for a sense of privacy.

picReconstruction includes the original brick that was found buried on the property. In both rooms the guest can see the original beams that were used in the buildings. Each room has its own bathroom with large two-head showers and all the up to date conveniences.

Enjoy your breakfast in the two–story Victorian main house, poolside with a view of the mountains, or in a garden gazebo.

History of the Carriage House Bed and Breakfast

  • In the 1700’s it was the site of silversmith shop of William and Matthew Atkinson. They were the designers and engravers of the original Tennessee state seal.
  • In 1878 the main house carriage house was built by Judge A.S. Deadrick.
  • In 1896 the home was remodeled to include large bay windows, decorative gables and front and back porches.
